I found this in my inbox today. A friend, who is a writer, sent it to me. She said “something to think about, at least for me”. Obviously she thought I should see it as well, and she was right. We already know these things, but it is so important to be reminded of them now and then. Follow the link to the Guardian website under, and you will see what I mean. A nurse has recorded the most common regrets of the dying:
Here is a short version:
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
Since I’ve just found a job, and will now start to get home at 7.30 pm every night I can now say that I’m not following any of this good advice.
Something to think about.
